Gino's Bistecca Pizzaiola
Steak the Pizzamaker's Style
Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp. Carlino's Own Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 4 Small Certified Angus Beef Tenderloin Steaks
- 2 Large garlic cloves, finely chopped
- Freshly ground Himalayan Sea Salt and Alessi Peppercorns
- 1 Quart Italian peeled tomatoes, drained and finely chopped
- 1 tsp. Carlino's Dried Oregano
- pinch of shaky peppers
Directions:
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the steaks to the pan and cook, turning once, until browned on both sides. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer the meat to a holding plate.
Scatter the garlic into the pan and cook for one minute. Add the tomatoes, oregano, red pepper, and salt and pepper to taste. Bring the sauce to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened. Return the steaks to the sauce. Cook briefly, turning the steaks once or twice until warmed and cooked to liking. Serve hot.
