7. French 75
A twist on the traditional bubbly, here is a recipe for the iconic French 75. A classic cocktail with a sparkly zing, the French 75 is the perfect drink to have in hand at midnight.
SERVES 1
2 shots gin (we prefer Bluecoat)
2 shots Cointreau
Big squeeze of lemon
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
Sparkling wine (Champagne or Prosecco), chilled
Ice
Add enough ice to your cocktail shaker to fill it about a third of the way. Add the gin, Cointreau, lemon, and sugar, then cover and shake well. Strain the drink into tumblers chilled with ice. Finish off each glass with a big splash of sparkling wine. An additional lemon twist is optional. Keep pouring ‘em.
