France has always had an OOH-LA-LA reputation, not only in the world of love but also in the world of cheese. Casanova lauded French Roquefort cheese as an aphrodisiac and it became the rage of the European courts, guaranteeing it a place in love/cheese history. Try Roquefort fork-whisked together with butter, spread atop Bremner Wafers as an easy, elegant first offering.

However, if love was a cheese it would probably be a triple crème; lush, velvety and long lingering. Carlino’s offers a sinful amount of triple crèmes including: St Andre, Prince La Fontaine, Delice de Bourgoyne, Brillat Savarin, Pierre Robert, St. Angel, Belletoille and many more seasonal favorites.

The world of cheese/love must also include the truffle which is rich in mystery, earthy, unique and rare. Carlino’s embraces the love of the truffle and offers not only truffle cheeses but also whole truffles, truffle peelings, Carlino’s White or Black Truffle Extra Virgin Olive Oil and truffle honey. Truffle Cheeses include the fantastic Italian Sottocenere al Tartuffo, Pecorino with Black Truffle Paste, Caciotto al Tartuffo, Truffle Tremor and Fromager d’Affinois with Black Truffle.

Wherever your tastebuds take you on Valentine’s Day, remember the flavors of Carlino’s, the flavors of love.

Football Goes With Tapenade

View our Game Day Menu HERE!

February is a month of many special days. Valentine’s Day is one of them. Super bowl Sunday is another special day in February that you spend surrounded by the ones you love (or at least like) and surrounded by tons of delicious food and drink. It is the second-largest day for U.S. food consumption after Thanksgiving. A mouth-watering “gobble-gobble” for Super Bowl Sunday is Carlino’s exclusive collection of Tapenade, especially when paired with Carlino’s Signature Breadsticks.

A Tapenade is an olive-based spread featured in Mediterranean cuisine. Although it originated in the South of France it is now popular all over the world. The ingredients of Tapenade include black olives, caper berries, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and/or tomatoes, figs and balsamic vinegar mashed together into a thick paste.

Carlino’s Specialty Markets offers a variety of Tapenade in its exclusive collection including: Fig & Olive, Kalamata & Caper and Sun-Dried Tomato & Olive. These products are all natural, gluten free, preservative free and made from farm fresh ingredients.
Our Fig & Olive Tapenade is a blend of Kalamata olives, Mission figs, imported balsamic vinegar and Carlino’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil, fused together to create a real European taste sensation. This sweet yet savory spread is a fig lover’s must. With hints of the rare Aleppo pepper, this exceptional tapenade brings your taste buds to life.
Our Kalamata & Caper Tapenade is brightly flavored with capers and Kalamata olives. This slightly chunky tapenade lends itself to many uses, including; as a dressing for salads, a marinade for lamb or beef and as a dip for crudite.
Our Sun-Dried Tomato & Olive Tapenade is a rich & full-bodied blend of vine-ripened sun-dried tomatoes and savory select olives. It can be served with artisanal salumi or mixed with ricotta or cream cheese to create a delicious dip.
Each of these rare tapenades is great as an appetizer with Carlino’s signature breadsticks.

6 split chicken breasts, skinned and boned**
