Carlino's Specialty Foods

Here at Carlino’s we consider our employees to be ground zero for the Carlino’s brand and experience. All holiday season our staff has been hustling and bustling, prepping food and slinging gifts. Their mantra is always “Is this Mama Carlino worthy” and “We” is better than “I”. So we thought who better to ask what the top gifts are this holiday season then the Carlino’s employee? Here are our staff picks this holiday, just a few of our favorite things. Meet the team, find out what they are gifting and why.

JJ, Office Manager

JJ’s Pick: Galup Panettone

JJ, Carlino’s exceedingly competent Office Manager. You’ve probably spoken to him on the phone. He’s the one with the soothing voice.

Why the Panettone?

I just really like panettone. My mom always bought one around Christmastime when I was growing up. This year she can’t find them anywhere, and I told her she needs to get one at Carlino’s!

Aviva, Carlino's newly minted Senior Graphic Designer. You may have seen her wandering the store squinting critically at displays to make sure they are up to par.

Aviva’s Pick: Taste of Carlino’s Gift Basket

Aviva, Carlino’s newly minted Senior Graphic Designer. You may have seen her wandering the store squinting critically at displays.

Why the Taste of Carlino’s?

This basket has the Carlino’s essentials: cheese, meat, oil & vinegar. I give this basket as a gift to show non-Italians like myself what the classics/staples are. I like to cook and bake, so I appreciate a good mix of usable ingredients and ready-made snacks in my gift baskets. It’s kind of the perfect gift.

Anthony, one of our floor managers based in West Chester. Check out that beard.

Anthony’s Pick: Fresh Ravioli, Soup, Artisan Bread, & Fig-Infused Balsamic

Anthony, one of our Floor Managers based in West Chester. (Check out that beard)

Why these items?

This is what I take home every night to make for dinner and I think everyone would love our fresh pasta and soup just as much as me.

Andrew, a Floor Manager in West Chester. He likes Cannoli. Like, a lot.

Andrew’s Pick: Homemade Cannoli

Andrew, a Floor Manager in West Chester. He likes Cannoli. Like, a lot. You can see it in his eyes.

Why the Cannoli?

This is my favorite item in the store. (Need he say more?)

Melissa_Collage

Melissa’s Pick: Chocolat Moderne

You can often catch glimpses of Melissa running through our stores always tweaking and fixing. As our Purchasing Manager she is responsible for many of our fabulous non perishable products and is considered our authority on artisan chocolate.

Why the Chocolate Moderne?

They are handmade by a small batch company in New York and they make super yummy artisanal chocolates. Plus have you seen how adorable this packaging is?

Laurie_Collage

Laurie’s Pick: Calginetti + Truffle Tremor

Our HR guru Laurie wears many hats at Carlino’s including helping customers and making sure we all get paid – which we all think is super important!

Why Calginetti & Truffle Tremor?

I had never had them before I worked here. I didn’t believe that the filling contained chick peas mixed with chocolate and dried fruit, but now they’re my favorite holiday treat, especially right out of the fryer. The Truffle Tremor – who doesn’t love truffle cheese?

Need we say more? Stop in and get all your gift needs covered. We can deliver gift baskets to your loved ones or you can hand them their gifts to see the looks of joy on their faces. Up to you.
